Battlefront II fun times

Nick and I (and occasionally mcmonkey and Alta) have been playing Battlefront II together. It's a ton of fun - and here's how we play it.

As the servers for Battlefront II have been taken down, you can no longer connect to games inside Battlefront II. The workaround we've found for that is a program called GameRanger:

This program allows someone to host a game and others to connect to it, and we've been using it for SWBF2. One of the downsides to it, though, is video/audio ads whenever you join a room, so I recommend muting the program.


However, we've also been using certain mods:

This adds a LOT of stuff to Battlefront II, including but not limited to: Battlefront I maps, new units, new gamemodes, and a KOTOR era.

This is a patch for the conversion pack, fixing/adding things.

This mod adds custom eras for the default maps that change gameplay a lot. It takes a lot that's fun about SWBF2 and makes it stronger and deadlier, making you feel more badass and have more fun playing.


I fully recommend that everyone who can play Battlefront II on the PC install these mods. You install them in the order I linked, wherever your game is installed (either in the Steam files or in Program Files).

To find me on GameRanger, click on Community, then Find user, then search for Provluke in the Nickname field. Add me as a friend and message me when I'm online, and I can invite you to games (or vice versa)!

BF2 is much fun to play, particularly if you can voice chat (Text chat in the game sucks)

Also, be warned, Gameranger is annoying as hell, and BF2 is forcibly fullscreen
