Well, shoot, look what I noticed:
I saw a thumbnail for a Star Trek Into Darkness interview, and had to watch the video just for this pose:
Maybe there's hope for Chris Pine after all.

Maybe. Maybe there's hope. No one is as good as the Shat though.

If Chris Pine blows Cpt Kirk like he did in the 1st movie, I will seriously lose my **** (Please do not swear). (To those who think he did a decent job, or think he mostly did good, I'm sorry for you because you obviously never saw Shatner in action)

Oh myyyy.
Seriously though, Chris Pine's a decent actor, and I think he actually could have pulled off a good re-imagined Kirk.
Problem is, J.J. Abrams made the movies too blockbuster-y (at least, in my opinion). It was too much of a modern summer action movie and not enough of the classic Star Trek focus on philosophy and shiz.
Now, don't get me wrong - I mostly enjoyed watching the movie, there were some moments that I liked in it, and I'm going to see Into Darkness, but the first Star Trek just didn't feel like Star Trek to me.
Re: Well, shoot, look what I noticed:
None of these new movies are going to feel like star trek. They all have way to much energy trying to copy the original actors. And William Shatner kept.... forgetting.... his lines....... He wasn't just trying to look cool gazing into the distance.
One of the characters that i thought they did not interpret very well was Uhura. The one feature of the original Uhura that I loved was her legs.
1960's version=Better legs.
New Uhura=too skinny
.........I rest my case

Speaking of bridges, I just got back from watching Star Trek Into Darkness.
I think it was slightly better than the previous movie. Still didn't feel like Star Trek as much as I would have liked, but Benedict Cumberbatch was a damn cold motherfucker. The movie had some nice references to the original series, as well.

.....Indeed good sir. Indeed....
Althought the original Khan didn't squash heads... He must have been extra angry in this alternate universe.
I like the Giant "???????" ship that was only introduced in schematics before and not ever mentioned in any of the shows or movies.
Du du duuuuuuuu!!!!!
